The acronym LMB came from our original handle, La Mouette Botanicals, which means The Seagull (Botanicals!) in French.  Seagulls get a bad rap -we know- but the birds we call by this name are the sleek and proud creatures found floating, strutting, and gliding up and down the coastline.  Their plumage is meticulously groomed.  They spend their days lounging on the sand, drifting in and out of the salt water, and often dining on fresh seafood.  What's not to envy there?  Sure, they can be a little outspoken at times, but at the end of the day nothing brings to mind the salt and sand and pounding surf like the cry of a seagull.  By calling our company after one of the most familiar faces on the shoreline, we hope to combine our love and appreciation of herbs with the distinct coastal feel of the place we call home.
